RIP

Mm. Bad news has a way of dropping a lead ball into your stomach.
Making you feel less than alive inside.
Still.
..

Okay, I'm in need of some serious suggestions. For movies, books and songs.
Since summer has begun, I've got a crapload of time to do more stuff. First, movies.
I've always been a huge fan of those strange movies, the ones that most people describe as "weird" or "messed up". I just watched Donnie Darko and am about halfway through Pan's Labyrinth, so that will kind of give you a hint as to what kind of weirdness I like. The kind that will make you squirm in your seat, the uncomfortable stuff.
Or any other fantastic movies that someone thinks I may like.

Second, books. Although I have a lineup of around 10 books in my closet that have to be read before the summer is up, I've always looking for new. Science fiction, horror and apocalypse. My faves. <3
Oh, and does anyone know of a hilarious book that I would like to read? I'm always sticking with the dark and dreary ones it seems, and although I love the to pieces, it would be nice to try and find something a bit lighter and with more humour.

Third, songs. Most people know that I'm a huge rock fan, a stickler for the heavier stuff, like hard rock and metal. Not a fan of the screamo stuff. I've felt the need to branch out and taste some new music. So suggestions there are extremely appreciated. And please try and keep them less mainstream, because most of that gets way overplayed and such. I don't mind a less heard of song by a mainstream band though.

Woo, a lot to ask there. Thanks in advanced.

Oh yeah, and if anyone wants some suggestions for anything from me, say the word and I'll throw some your way!

Is anyone else kinda bummed about Michael Jackson? T'was a bit of a shocker for me today.

Haha, kind of had a neat adventure today. Since I'm on break and my dad is on holidays too, we were both home today, just chilling and working ('kay, I wasn't working) outside. My sister just got dropped off the bus from school and I hear her yelling "DaaaAAAAAAD!". Strange, I kinda peered through the trees from the deck and saw a moose. On our driveway. That may be normal for some people, but understand that we do not usually have moose anywhere near where we live. Let alone on our driveway, on the outskirts of town. We all gave a big WHUTTHEHELL?
So we all jumped in the car with my camera and followed it down the road. Cut it off at one point so we could get some better pics. Pretty calm dude too, kept giving us these "c'mon, give me some peace" looks.
And the way we were driving was like we were on some awesome African safari or something.

Oh baww. No subby, eh? There was contest in the News section that grants a year sub, all you have to do is design a Beanie Baby logo. c:

I'm a tad bummed too, he was such an influence on thousands of musicians and a huge icon of Western culture. RIP Mj.

Uhh...suggestions... XD

Movies: Don't really know of any weird movies. (oh man, you've watched Pan's Labyrinth? I wanted to but when my brother told me it was in Spanish and only had subtitles my reaction was :| I try to avoid reading more than I have to) But I guess if you can find a bootleg of Coraline, that movie was pretty weird, at least to me.

Books: As I state above, Kyuubi no likey to read...well at least fiction, I do enjoy reading Biology textbooks and animal encyclopedias. <3 Er, if you want something different...Fire Bringer by David Clement-Davies? XD It's like Watership Down only with deer, guess not really something you'd like, but it's the last book I've read. (which I did about 2 years ago)

Music: Ever heard of Anti-Flag? Dunno why they came to mind, but they're a British punk-ish band. But if that's not your thing then I'll just list random bands. X3 Ohoh I know, Hot Water Music? I only know one song by them but they sound pretty hard-rock-ish. :U
:iconanuwolf:
Cha I heard about him being dead and all when I was at work. *shrugs* I found it weird for someone to walk up to me and say "Did you hear? Michael Jackson's dead!" and I'm like "......ok?" XP

Wellll you prolly got all the possible book recommendations and music recommends from me already.. since my taste in stuff is so limited in the first place
:iconwthplz: but... a fun read.. would be... "faerie wars" by herbie brennan? I dunno, its not as cliche as it sounds, its more of a fun random read that's like sci-f mixed fantasy, although its a bit kiddie I still enjoyed it T^T *shrugs* durp!
As for movies.. well.. fantastic ones are "Aliens" and and and yeah
:iconimhappyplz: I don't know of much weird strange movies though.. those creep me out and give me the twilightzone feeling T^T no likeyyy XP

Oh snap! A moose! Was it a male or female? Antlers? Can I see some pictures of it? xD I know those things can get pretty fuckin' huge... bigger than a horse... ._. they're kinda scary that way xP but yayyy safarriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeee

owww, Pan's Labyrinth! But, you know, even though it's Spanish it's too good to actually miss out really! And I assure you won't even have to pay attention to the subtitles, because the story isn't told by the conversations, but by the actions of the characters and the things that happen. Please give it a try:please:

My dad walked into the kitchen where I was curled up in a very uncomfortable wooden chair and just announced "Michael Jackson died". Whut? That was very sudden.

Dayum, I keep forgetting about Aliens. I read the first book, Alien, but not Aliens (honestly, who makes a sequel and just slaps an 's' onto the title of the first?).

MOOSE
My dad thinks it was a female but it was really hard to tell because it was pretty young. Probably born last year and the mum decided that it was time to face the big ol' scary world by itself. It was still really big though, bigger than a horse. I'd damn near shit myself if there was a full grown bull moose on our driveway. D=
Here's a pic anyway. [link]
That was when we tried cutting it off with the car. It was crossing this little sideroad type thing and my dad practically drifted on to it. xD

HOMG TOOL TOOL TOOL

Well, if it comes on tv and I happen to spot it, I'll give it a try. XD
:iconkodriak:
Woah, I'll be checkin' out that contest for sure.

RIP MJ. Though you were strange and a bit of a nut, you left a lot of memories amongst the peoples of this day.

Pan's Labyrinth is very strange, but I really like it. It is all in Spanish but after awhile I didn't even notice anymore. The subtitles actually made the movie more clear and interesting I found. But damn, some parts of that movie are disturbing. Contains the most demented and disturbing movie monster that I've ever seen. If you're feeling up to it, check out this vid here to see. Gives me chills every time I watch it. [link]
I've been wanting to check out Coraline. I'm really picky when it comes to animated movies and its pretty rare that I like any of them. I've found my three faves though (Meet the Robinsons, Igor and Monsters VS Aliens. Luff 'em) but I'm always looking for more. From what I saw of the previews of Coraline, the button eye thing looked awesome.

Whaaat? You no likey to read? I love books <3<3
I read the Firebringer a few years ago, and I guess I liked it then, but I think that if I were to read it again I wouldn't like it. There is another book by the same author, The Sight, I think it's called, about wolves. I hated that one so much that I couldn't even finish it. :|

Chyeah I've heard of Anti-Flag. Haven't heard a whole lot of their stuff but I'll check them out. And I haven't even heard of Hot Water Music before. Intriguing name though, I'll check them out tomorrow when I have a wee bit more time.
And thankies for the suggestions! 8D
