OH MY GOD THIS WAS EXHAUSTING Started this at 11 AM. It is now 930 PM of the same day. Worked all but probably 3 hours of it. During which my family and I proceeded to enjoy a lovely firework show put on by our now-dead fondue pot, then go all redneck and use an electric skillet instead. It was very painful. xD
Anyway Last night my boyfriend tells me that he got my parents something for Christmas, and even though I did want to paint something for his parents, I didn't think I would have had time. But lo and behold, I can get a lot done in one day. Apparently.
So the help part. HELP ME WITH ANYTHING THAT NEEDS FIXING PLEASE ILOVEYOU. This goes to them..tomorrow. So if any of you lovely folk are around on Christmas eve, want to lend me a hand? Thanks!
Their three pups. Maggie the Bulldog (who is the cutest dog ever, oh god what a softie), Eddie the Westie, and Becki the Jack Russell.
Painted with acrylics on canvas. HATED that canvas. It was so textured and was glossy almost, the paint barely adhered to it at the beginning. And 11"x14".
Overall I'm pretty damn happy with it, especially seeing how I went from a blank canvas to this in one day. Merry Christmas everyone!!
This is amazing! I wish I had your realism skills.
You did a wonderful job on bringing out the various personalities and breeds of the dogs though my favourite definitely has to be the Westie, you did an amazing job on him.
The fur looks amazing on all of them which is excellent considering each breed has such different fur types. Again, I especially love the Westie's, it looks so soft and flowing.
The lighting on all the dogs is amazing too and really brings out that element of photo-realism.
Thank you so much love. It was neat doing three totally different fur styles for one piece. The Westie was such a pain, yet his fur is my favorite.
I always try to bring dramatic lighting to my paintings, even if it means using artistic license to try to "make-up" the lighting. I think I'm decent at it. Just a matter of really thinking about where the shadows should fall, etc.
It's really wonderful. I think it suits you to HAVE A SCARY DEADLINE. You put your heart & soul into this and you must really love your boyfriend! Excellent work, very very warm.
I do seem to work well under pressure. Sure is helpful! Especially since I'm a procrastinating university student! Oh and yes I do love him, very very much. <3
I love this. The lighting you did is quite impressive, making each dog clearly visible even though it's a bit of a darkish painting. The flow of the westie's hair is WONDERFUL, and I adore the fuzziness on the bulldog's chin.
