Strange Winds Blowby =Kodriak

I've been meaning to do this piece forever, but I just couldn't come up with the right idea.
Its an ACEO trade with

, their dragon character of the same name. I wanted to make it.. different. So I'm sure this isn't what you were expecting, but it was super fun to paint. I'm pretty happy with it, regardless of my lack of expertise when it comes to landscape. But I do hope you like it!

I was too lazy to take my acrylics out so this is done with watercolours and gesso.

It took me a few hours to proceed this ACEO, it's so... Really different, I cannot find any better word for it.

I have none such abstract and ideas-invoking ACEO in my collection, this is the very first, it's special... I am super-excited about it, I am so glad that I could trade with you!

I cannot wait to see it and to feel the structure.

I've never heard about gesso before, I'm a bit curious how will it look like.

I'm so glad you like it! It also has glowing paint in some spots, so if you hold it up to the light for a bit then view it in darkness, it glows.

The gesso is just a thick white paint, like a primer. I just ended up using it for highlights. xP

Gesso is usually an acrylic binder, Plaster of Paris and a little titanium to whiten it [black can be iron oxide]. Prior to acrylic gesso was made with the glue of boiled rabbit hides. Gouache is the same components of watercolour: a Gum Arabic binder and pigments - so gouache is thicker.
