HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVA!
Uploading today (14th) because with the time difference, she'll get this on the 15thI've been working on this for awhile. Or at least I started it like forever ago. Then school took over, on and on. But as of friday, I AM FINISHED.

Summer may now begin.
Ever since =
Daktari92 has uploaded the first image of Connor, a Tool-inspired creation (<3<3<3), I've been dying to paint him up. He's kind of a product of the modern world, which was the inspiration for me to paint those
symbols. Symbols of our modern world? Yes, I think so. Some of the symbols that represent the more vain side of the human race. *shrug*
Suited it, anyhow.
Though I suppose the A+ and the clock are to represent concerns rather than vanity. Obsessive concerns for some. When I first started painting this, I had plans of making it very speedpainterly and rough, but as I continued working on it (over three weeks later) I couldn't help but throw in details. I think that I am more pleased with it now than I ever would have been had I kept going along the speedpaint route. Details FTW!
Sorry for the dark b-day painting. HAPPY DAY! 8D
Connor (c) to her
An' download for full.
I would so leave you a better comment if I wasn't so behind on commenting on deviations D:
The colour scheme is perfect for him, that bit harsh blue-greenish.. It seems like he's coughing up a sort of gass, but those signs make it very symbolic, which is beautiful, because Connor is meant to be symbolic. The dark side of our world. Ow, I love the download, I can see all the small cracks in the stones, the details of his teeth and the little specks of light on his nose. You did such an amazing job and I love the big contrast of light/dark. For example; the area around his eye is very dark, which make the coin stand out a lot, and because of the deep shadow you pay better attention to the light parts. You did a good job on making the symbols look like they're about to vanish into the air, as if they never existed. This drawing really has a deep meaning. Okay, I'm printing this and it gets a nice place on the wall of my room, next to your other birthday gifts. I'm still deciding whether I'll use one big frame or a few smaller ones.
Yeah, this really gave me a more 'Weeh-it's-my-birthday-feeling-!' if you know what I mean. Getting beautiful presents from a friend who lives on the other side of the world just is an amazing feeling. Thanks so much
This was actually a blast to paint. I'm so glad that I went ahead and detailed it instead. <3
I'm really glad you liked this.
Darn I forgot her b-day
I'm usually so bad with birthdays.
Means a lot to me.
